Investigative journalism is the form of journalism I am most interested in pursuing further in my career. This is why I chose to take the King’s investigative workshop in the final portion of my undergraduate degree. As a member of a team of 18, I took part in a detailed analysis of Halifax Regional Municipality’s emergency response calls database of fire calls from the past six years. The results of our efforts revealed a discrepancy in fire service throughout the region, and this work can be viewed on our site, as well as by visiting The Chronicle Herald, our publication partner for this project.
